Our Cacao: Origins & Offerings

LETS Bloom Cacao is sourced from two thriving regions of Guatemala: the lush forest sanctuary of Agua Blanca and the sacred valley communities of Maya Q’eqchi’ farmers in the Polochic region. These farms are part of a regenerative movement—reviving ancestral wisdom, reversing ecological depletion, and cultivating cacao that connects body, heart, and land.

We offer two distinct blends:

Vanilla Reverie – Mystic Valley Cacao

From the Maya Q’eqchi’ cooperative near Sierra de Las Minas, this cacao offers a soft, slow-drinking experience with subtle notes of Madagascar vanilla and forest memory.

Forest Essence – Agua Blanca Reserve

From a unique agroforestry system on Guatemala’s southern coast, this cacao evokes the serene ambiance of a forest sanctuary—warm, velvety, and grounded in oak and spice.

Sacred Heritage & Indigenous Wisdom

For centuries, cacao has been prepared as a sacred food by Mesoamerican peoples—used to open the heart, connect with the divine, and unify communities. The Maya and Aztec cultures revered cacao as both physical sustenance and spiritual sacrament, calling it the “Food of the Gods.”

Our cacao carries this reverence forward—not through ritual alone, but through practice. It’s grown using intergenerational knowledge, prepared with care, and offered in alignment with seasonal rhythms and community wellbeing.

We honor the living heritage of cacao—not as a romanticized past, but as an evolving relationship between the land, people, and sacred stewardship. This is about reclaiming real nourishment, rooted in practical wisdom and everyday reverence.

Regenerative Farming & Community Empowerment

Both of our cacao sources model resilience and restoration—not just of land, but of culture, economy, and ancestral legacy.

  • Mystic Valley Cacao (Vanilla Reverie) is grown by over 180 smallholder farmers in the Maya Q’eqchi’ cooperative near the Sierra de Las Minas Biosphere Reserve. These farmers, many of whom live in remote forested villages, use ancestral agroforestry practices that regenerate soil, support rare wildlife, and preserve sacred trees. More than 30% of these stewards are women, many of them mothers and grandmothers passing on wisdom to the next generation. Through this cooperative, families are not only earning fair wages—they're protecting one of the most ecologically significant regions of Guatemala.

  • Agua Blanca Reserve (Forest Essence) began as a poultry and rubber operation but has evolved into a regenerative cacao sanctuary. This visionary farm is pioneering a new agroforestry model on the south coast—using mango, avocado, and rubber trees to shade cacao while restoring degraded monoculture land once dominated by sugar cane. The farm’s team includes skilled workers trained in post-harvest excellence and heirloom genetics. Their success has become a replicable model for other farms in the region, helping to shift entire communities from extraction to regeneration.

Together, these two communities represent a movement: from survival to sovereignty, from monoculture to multi-generational flourishing. When you sip this cacao, you’re tasting the future of land-based livelihood—rooted in wisdom, dignity, and deep mutual care.
