How to Prepare Your Cacao

Here’s how to prepare a cup that supports your energy, your cycle, and your intentions.

To prepare your cacao:

Break off 25–30g (about ¼ of a bar)

Gently melt in 1–2 cups hot water or plant-based milk (do not boil)

Blend or whisk until smooth and creamy or use an inversion frother or blender

Add sweetener or spices to taste—cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, cayenne, sea salt, rose, or your favorite essential oil

Pour into your favorite mug, find a relaxing space

Take a breath. Set your intention. Sip slowly.

Cacao Rituals for Every Season of Your Cycle

Each phase of your cycle invites a different energy—rest, renewal, radiance, reflection. These recipes are here to support and celebrate you through each one.

Let them be a starting point. Create creative. Listen to your body and adjust to your own rhythm.

1. Winter (Menstruation) – Rest & Release

Moon Milk Cacao

  • 25–30g LETS Bloom Cacao

  • 1–2 cups preferred milk

  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • 1 drop lavender essential oil (or chamomile tea infusion)

Instructions: Warm milk, melt cacao gently. Blend all ingredients. Sip slowly with warmth and intention.

Grounding Rose Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana

  • ½ cup plant milk

  • 1 tbsp cacao

  • 1 tsp rose powder or a few petals

  • Dash cinnamon

Instructions: Blend and serve cool for calm and heart-centered nourishment.

2. Spring (Follicular) – Renewal & Growth

Bloom Awakening Elixir

  • 25–30g LETS Bloom Cacao

  • 1–2 cups hot water

  • 1 tsp honey or agave

  • Dash cinnamon & cardamom

  • 1 drop wild orange or lemon essential oil

Instructions: Blend well. Sip as you set new intentions.

Citrus Glow Smoothie

  • ½ orange (peeled)

  • ½ banana

  • 1 tbsp cacao

  • ½ cup coconut milk

Optional: 1 drop wild orange essential oilInstructions: Blend and enjoy bright, energizing flavor.

3. Summer (Ovulation) – Confidence & Connection

Chilled Bloom Cacao

  • 25–30g LETS Bloom Cacao

  • 1–2 cups warm water or milk + ice as desired

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

  • 1 drop peppermint or vanilla essential oil

Instructions: Blend and pour over ice. Sip outdoors if possible. 

Glow-Up Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana

  • ½ cup almond or coconut milk

  • 1 tbsp cacao

  • 1 tsp maca powder

  • Optional: pinch of Himalayan saltInstructions: Blend for mood, energy, and radiance.

4. Autumn (Luteal) – Reflection & Preparation

Spiced Bloom Cacao

  • 25–30g LETS Bloom Cacao

  • 1–2 cups almond milk

  • Pinch cinnamon, cayenne, and nutmeg

  • 1 drop vanilla or cinnamon essential oil

Instructions: Blend and serve warm to soothe and settle.

Autumn Comfort Smoothie

  • ½ cooked sweet potato or pumpkin

  • ½ frozen banana

  • ½ cup milk1 tbsp cacao

  • Pinch cinnamon and ginger

    Instructions: Blend for cozy comfort and pre-menstrual ease.

A Moment to Be Present — Together or Alone

Cacao invites us to return to what matters. Whether you’re preparing it alone in quiet reflection or sharing it with someone you care about, the ritual can be deeply personal or beautifully communal.

You might choose to stir slowly in solitude, listening to your breath and grounding your thoughts. Or you may prepare and share together—each step a gesture of care. There’s no right way. Only your way.

If enjoying solo:

Let the ritual anchor you.

Notice the aroma. Feel the warmth in your hands. Let each sip be a reminder that you are cared for, connected, and already whole.

Close your eyes. Place one hand on your heart. And say:

“I am here. I am listening. I receive this moment as sacred.”

If sharing with someone:

Offer the moment.

“I made this for us. Let’s pause and be present with one another.”

Sit across from each other. Exchange a few deep breaths. You might offer an intention like:

“I’m here to listen” or “I want to feel more connected with you.”

Ask a gentle question:

What’s something you’re carrying right now?

What are you grateful for?

What do you need most today?

Let the cacao guide the pace. Sip. Pause. Let silence or laughter come. Let presence be enough.
